Argentina to field ten clubs in the 2026-27 Premier League with Enzo, Mac Allister, Dibu and more world champions

Chelsea leads the way with three Argentines, while Dibu, Rulli and Benítez split the league's goalkeeping duties.

Ten clubs, sixteen Argentine passports and at least three Albiceleste goalkeepers fighting for a starting spot. That's the picture for the 2026-27 Premier League season, where the Argentine contingent remains one of the largest in English soccer, blending world champions with young players just starting to make a name for themselves.

The list includes Qatar 2022 World Cup winners such as Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister, Dibu Martínez, Gerónimo Rulli, Lisandro Martínez and Cuti Romero, along with names who later earned national team consideration like Valentín Barco and Marcos Senesi. The Argentine legion is spread across Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

Chelsea, the club with the most Argentines

At Stamford Bridge, under Xabi Alonso, the Albiceleste presence reaches three players. Enzo Fernández remains a fixture in midfield since arriving in February 2023 from Benfica. He's joined by Valentín Barco, who signed on after his stint at Racing Strasbourg and can contribute down the left flank in both defensive and more attacking roles. Rounding out the trio is Aaron Anselmino, a center back developed at Boca who will look to carve out a role on a roster with plenty of internal competition.

At Liverpool, the lone Argentine is Alexis Mac Allister, who arrived in 2023 from Brighton and quickly became a regular starter. A 2022 World Cup champion and 2026 runner-up, he begins the season looking to regain the form that made him a fixture at Anfield.

Defenders at Tottenham, goalkeepers scattered across the league

Tottenham brings together two national team defenders: Cuti Romero, already established as a leader after several Premier League seasons, and Marcos Senesi, who arrives after his time at Bournemouth and will share the back line with his countryman.

Aston Villa keeps Dibu Martínez between the posts, staying with the club despite exit rumors and remaining one of its leaders since 2020. The Villans' roster also includes Emiliano Buendía, who has several seasons of experience in English soccer, and Alejandro Garnacho, on loan from Chelsea after his time at Manchester United, bringing speed and unpredictability out wide.

Manchester City brings in Gerónimo Rulli, arriving to compete for the starting goalkeeper job after an extensive European career (the club had actually held his rights years earlier, though he never made an official debut). Alongside him remains Claudio Echeverri, the River-developed Diablito, who will look to earn minutes under Enzo Maresca, though a loan move hasn't been ruled out.

At Manchester United, Lisandro Martínez continues on. He arrived from Ajax in 2022 and, after overcoming several serious injuries, established himself as one of the Argentine defenders with the most staying power in the league thanks to his clean ball distribution and intensity in the tackle.

The rest of the list rounds out with Carlos Alcaraz at Everton, Nicolás Domínguez at Nottingham Forest (a club he joined in 2023 after his time at Bologna), Julio Soler at Bournemouth (one of the youngest prospects, developed at Lanús) and Walter Benítez in goal for Crystal Palace, following stints at Nice and PSV. Between the three goalkeepers, Dibu, Rulli and Benítez, it's clear Argentina also rules the goalposts in England.
