Arsenal Eyes Beier as United Already Plots Gabriel Succession Plan

From the Gunners' interest in the Dortmund forward to the Old Trafford scramble over JJ Gabriel's possible exit, we run through the transfer moves taking shape across Europe.

Arsenal Eyes Beier as United Already Plots Gabriel Succession Plan

The transfer market never sleeps, and today's roundup stretches from London all the way to Sweden. The name generating the most buzz is Maximilian Beier, the Borussia Dortmund forward who has landed on Arsenal's radar as a potential attacking reinforcement.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal's scouts came away impressed by the versatility of the 23 year old forward. The interesting part is how he ended up on their radar in the first place: the London club's scouts had traveled to Germany to keep tabs on Ethan Nwaneri's loan spell at Dortmund, and ended up falling for Beier along the way.

United Already Thinking About Life After Gabriel

Meanwhile, things are moving on a different front in Manchester. United has its eye on Mezian Mesloub, the Lens winger who is just 16 years old, according to TEAMtalk. The idea would be to bring him in as a long term project, but United is far from alone in the race: scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are also tracking the young Frenchman.

Why the sudden interest from United in a player that age? Because behind the scenes, executives Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox are trying to convince JJ Gabriel not to leave. The trouble is that, per Diario AS, Real Madrid is already reviewing the eligibility requirements needed to sign the 15 year old. ESPN goes further, reporting that Gabriel himself has made clear he wants out of Old Trafford, and Madrid isn't the only club circling: Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also in the race for him.

Other Deals Taking Shape Across Europe

Tottenham could revive its interest in Morgan Gibbs-White, the Nottingham Forest midfielder, in January. Football Insider reports that Spurs already made a move for him back in the summer of 2025 and are still looking at reinforcements after a rocky start to the season, though they would have to pay somewhere around £125 million. It's not as if Gibbs-White has been struggling, either: the Englishman has racked up three goal contributions in five Premier League matchdays.

Atletico Madrid, for its part, is reportedly reigniting its pursuit of Ibrahim Maza of Bayer Leverkusen, according to Goal. The 20 year old Algerian midfielder could cost around €70 million, though the German club has no intention of letting him go cheaply and is already working on a contract renewal with a salary bump.

In England, Liverpool hasn't given up on Yankuba Minteh of Brighton, after seeing a €60 million offer rejected over the summer. There have also been contacts with Lamine Camara, the 22 year old Monaco midfielder. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, is considering a move for Newcastle forward Nick Woltemade next summer, with the English club said to be open to hearing serious offers.

Back at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta appears determined to block any loan exit for Noni Madueke, despite interest from Juventus and Atletico Madrid. As for Harry Kane, the word is that the England captain is prioritizing his future at Bayern Munich, though United is still keeping tabs on him.
