Two unbeaten sides, only one throne up for grabs. Arsenal and Chelsea both arrive at matchweek three of the Premier League with perfect records, and that alone gives Sunday's meeting on September 6 an extra edge. The Emirates Stadium will host a clash between the two London clubs with the best starts to the 2026/2027 campaign, something that does not happen every year.

Kickoff is set for 12:30 pm (Argentina and Uruguay), 11:30 am (Chile) and 10:30 am (Ecuador, Colombia and Peru), with coverage across South America through Disney+'s Premium Plan.

Two sides of the same table

Both clubs have two wins from two matches, but the way they got there tells very different stories. Chelsea are showing some cracks at the back, having already conceded five goals in just two games, something Xabi Alonso needs to fix as soon as possible if he wants to keep up this pace. Arsenal, on the other hand, sit at the opposite end: they haven't conceded a single goal so far this season, which is striking given the club has had to cope with the absence of William Saliba, one of its most important defensive pieces.

That kind of solidity without him says a lot about the collective structure the reigning champions have been showing.

Romeo Lavia looks like a key piece in midfield, though there is one doubt weighing on Xabi Alonso: Moises Caicedo is carrying a knock from last matchweek and his availability is not guaranteed. Arsenal ground out a tight win over Aston Villa, coming out on top by the narrowest of margins. Chelsea, meanwhile, put on a show at home against Brighton, eventually winning 4-3 in a back and forth thriller.

The most recent meeting between the two also went the Gunners' way: it came on March 1 of last season, also at the Emirates, with Arsenal winning 2-1. William Saliba and Jurrien Timber scored for the hosts, while the visitors' lone goal came via an own goal from Piero Hincapie.

With that recent history in their favor and a defense that has yet to concede, Arsenal go into the match with something of a psychological edge. But Xabi Alonso's Chelsea arrive with goals guaranteed up front, and in a match of this magnitude, that can offset any statistic that came before it.
