Atlanta United pulled off a surprise at Allianz Field, edging Minnesota United FC 2-1 in an MLS matchup where the home side controlled much of the play but couldn't turn that dominance into goals. Tristan Muyumba's decisive strike in the 77th minute ultimately punished a Minnesota side that had fought back hard after falling behind on the scoreboard.

A back and forth affair

Atlanta struck first. In the 36th minute, off a corner kick, Tomás Jacob connected on a right footed effort from inside the box that found the top left corner to make it 0-1.
