Boca hosts Platense at the Bombonera in matchday five of the Clausura 2026

The Bombonera is gearing up for another one of those nights the Boca faithful love: a home game, a real need for points and an opponent that never shows up to give anything away. Boca hosts Platense in matchday five of the 2026 Clausura Tournament, and the goal is clear: grab all three points to jump into the thick of the title race.

The match is set for Saturday, August 15 at the Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó, with kickoff times varying by country. In Argentina and Uruguay, the game starts at 9:15 p.m.; in Chile it can be watched from 8:15 p.m., and in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m. Coverage will be handled by TNT Sports, the usual channel for these Argentine soccer matchups.

A Boca side looking to lift another trophy

Beyond the result of this particular matchday, there's a bigger picture that can't be ignored: Boca enters this Clausura with the same ambition it always has, adding another title to the trophy case of the country's most decorated club. Every match at the Ducó is a chance to move closer to that goal, and against Platense there's no room to let up. Muñeco Calleri's side, an opponent that always makes things difficult on paper, tends to hold its own against the big clubs whenever the chance comes up.

For the fans, this one has been circled on the calendar for a while. It's a direct clash for three points in a championship where every point counts, and where Boca knows it can't afford to stumble on its own turf if it wants to keep pushing toward the top of the standings.

Home-field advantage tends to be a decisive factor for the Xeneize, who find that extra push from their fans at the Bombonera when chasing a result. Platense, for its part, arrives hoping to capitalize on any letdown and walk away with something positive from a stadium that has historically been a tough place for visitors.

With coverage confirmed on TNT Sports and the kickoff time locked in, all that's left is to wait for the ball to start rolling this Saturday to find out whether Boca can claim the three points and stay firmly in the hunt for another trophy.
