The club from La Ribera chose that moment right before kickoff to officially reveal its new alternate kit, designed as a direct nod to the club's history.

The presentation was no simple social media post. Boca staged a full production at the Alberto J. Armando Stadium, specifically in the renovated platea L section, and projected a video onto the boxes of La Bombonera to accompany the launch. It was a way of drawing the fans in attendance into the moment the jersey was revealed for the first time.

The design is the product of joint work between the club and Adidas, the German brand that has outfitted Boca since 2019 and has spent several seasons now developing kits alongside the Xeneize leadership. This time around, the central idea was to look back: the new jersey seeks, as the club itself explained on social media, to "honor the roots of Xeneize identity."

Boca, currently led by club president Juan Roman Riquelme, was clear about the message it wanted to convey with this release. The club described the new shirt as part of a search for identity, something that ties into the idea of reclaiming the original spirit of a club founded by Genoese immigrants in the La Boca neighborhood.
