Colo Colo held scoreless by Huachipato, keeps lead in Liga de Primera 2026

A scoreless draw, a field in poor condition, and a league table that keeps smiling on them. That's how Colo Colo summed up its trip to Ester Roa Rebolledo, where the club couldn't come away with all three points against Huachipato but also didn't see its cushion atop the Liga de Primera 2026 come under threat.

Ulloa is already thinking about that challenge and isn't taking it lightly, aware that the opponent, though lower in the standings, tends to give the big clubs trouble even when playing away from home, or in this case, playing as the visitor against the Colo Colo faithful.

"It will be a very tough opponent, we need to train hard to be ready for that match," the player warned.

There's another issue swirling around the club in Macul: the FIFA date overlaps with the Copa Chile clash against Audax Italiano, which could leave the squad short-handed. Several names are being floated for call-ups to the Chilean national team, and on top of that there's the possible call-up of Vozinha to Cabo Verde's national side. It's a headache for any coach, though Ulloa preferred to take it in stride.

"No matter who's out there, everyone is prepared to step in for whoever's missing. If there are call-ups, great. If not, we'll stay focused on the Championship. I always allow myself to get excited, you have to work for that," the wingback said.

With the top spot secured for now, Colo Colo faces a packed stretch of the calendar between the domestic league and the Copa Chile, with the advantage of a squad that, according to its own internal messaging, is ready to sustain its level even if some pieces are missing due to international commitments.
