Copa Libertadores 2026 quarterfinal fixture set with high voltage matchups
Estudiantes will take on Corinthians, Fluminense faces Platense, Independiente del Valle meets Flamengo, and Palmeiras squares off against Liga de Quito.

Eight teams, four ties and a single goal: breaking into South America's final four. The fixture for the 2026 Copa Libertadores quarterfinals is now set and, while CONMEBOL still has to confirm exact kickoff times, the broad calendar is already known and it promises some high voltage matchups.
First legs are scheduled between September 8 and 10, while the second legs will be played a week later, between September 15 and 17. As has been the case in the knockout rounds leading up to the final, these ties are played over two legs, with the better placed team from the group stage earning the right to host the decisive second leg.
How the matchups shook out
The draw pit Estudiantes de La Plata against Corinthians, with the "Pincha" hosting first and Timão closing things out on home soil in Brazil. Another all Brazilian flavored tie pits Fluminense against Platense, with the Argentine side looking to pull off an upset against one of the continent's historic clubs.
The third matchup brings together Independiente del Valle and Flamengo, one of the round's marquee ties: the Ecuadorian side, which has been on a strong run in the Libertadores in recent years, faces off against Mengão, one of the serious title contenders this year. Rounding things out, Palmeiras will clash with Liga de Quito, another matchup between a Brazilian giant and an Ecuadorian side that has shown real solidity throughout the tournament.
It's worth remembering that these eight qualifiers emerged from a previous round that also included Independiente Rivadavia, which was ultimately eliminated on the way to this stage.
The road to the final
The quarterfinals mark the last stop before the semifinals, and everything suggests the path to the title remains a long one. The final is set for Saturday, November 28 at Estadio Centenario, and, following the tournament's recent tradition, it will be the only stage played as a single match at a neutral site. Everything else, home and away legs, with hosting rights for the decisive game split according to group stage performance.
With Flamengo and Palmeiras flying the flag for Brazil, Corinthians and Fluminense rounding out that country's representation, and Estudiantes, Platense, Independiente del Valle and Liga de Quito fighting to get Argentina and Ecuador into the semifinals, the shape of this Libertadores 2026 promises evenly matched ties. None of the eight can afford to relax: in the win or go home nature of these rounds, any small detail could decide who keeps dreaming of "Eternal Glory."
