Driussi Is the Active River Player Who Has Scored the Most Against Boca
With three goals against the Xeneize, the forward tops a list that also includes Borré, Acuña, Correa and Vera ahead of the next Superclasico.

Some games get played on the field, and others start getting played days in advance, as fans dig up old goals. With the Superclasico right around the corner, it's worth asking the question every River fan finds themselves pondering in the elevator, in the checkout line, or chatting with a Boca-supporting friend: who on the current River roster knows what it feels like to score against the Xeneize?
The answer has a name: Sebastian Driussi. The forward is, by a wide margin, the player who has scored the most goals against Boca while wearing the River jersey, with three goals to his name. The first came on a night most River fans would rather forget, the 4-2 loss in 2016 at Nunez, though Driussi's goal stood as a small consolation. A year later he got to celebrate in the rival's backyard, scoring in the 3-1 win in 2017 at La Bombonera, a result River fans can recite from memory. And just to keep the memory fresh, he added a more recent one, in the 2-1 victory during the 2025 Apertura.
The other name on the list, albeit with a single goal, is Rafael Santos Borre, who scored against Boca on one of the biggest stages possible: the 2019 Copa Libertadores semifinals, no less.
Now, if the search widens to include players who currently wear River's colors but once scored against Boca while playing for other clubs, the list grows and gets a lot more interesting. Fausto Vera was one of the key figures in Argentinos Juniors' 2-2 draw with Boca in the Copa Maradona, back in January 2021, when a move to Nunez was still far from his mind.
There's also the case of Marcos Acuna, who celebrated a goal against Boca while playing for Racing in 2015, and Angel Correa, who did the same wearing the San Lorenzo jersey in 2013. Neither of them did it in River colors, but both know exactly what it means to beat the Xeneize goalkeeper.
In total, four players on the current River roster have scored against Boca at some point in their careers, though only two of them, Driussi and Borre, managed to do it directly in a Superclasico. A useful piece of trivia to have on hand before kickoff, in case one more talking point is needed ahead of a match that, as always, promises to get people talking long before the opening whistle.
