Angers grinds out 2-0 win over Troyes despite playing second fiddle in possession

Angers leaned on a Prosper Peter header just before halftime and a point-blank finish from Amine Sbaï to take all three points off Troyes: 2-0 at Stade Raymond Kopa, in a Ligue 1 match where the final score wound up looking more one-sided than the actual play.

Because if the first half showed anything, it was that Troyes was creating more than the scoreline would suggest. The visitors started the brighter of the two sides, with Iron Gomis and Timothé Nkada testing things from both flanks and Jérémy Le Douaron a constant threat around the home box. But it was Angers, with less offensive volume but sharper finishing, that struck first: in the 41st minute, Amine Sbaï whipped in a cross and Prosper Peter nodded it home from close range to make it 1-0.
