Famalicão and Gil Vicente Split the Points in Scoreless Draw in Liga Portugal

Neither Mathias de Amorim's left-footed strike that grazed the crossbar in the 7th minute, nor Joelson Fernandes's close-range effort that was met by the goalkeeper's hands in the 26th, could break a deadlock that ended up being a fair reflection of the match. Famalicão and Gil Vicente played to a 0-0 draw at the Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho, in a Liga Portugal clash that fell short on goals but not on chances.

The home side did more with the ball (they had plenty of possession but lacked punch) while the visitors defended with discipline until they found their own answers going forward. It was an even back and forth, with fouls flying on both sides (Gil Vicente in particular, committing nearly double their rivals' tally), and neither team could find the blow that would break the tie.

Famalicão had a good counterattacking chance through Sorriso, who shot high in the 62nd minute, and Gil Vicente answered with Tidjany Touré and Murilo de Souza both trying from outside the box without success. Late on, Mohamed Kaba had two headers in the space of a single minute (80th and 81st) that drifted wide of the right post. The match closed out with four minutes of added time and one last Famalicão corner that changed nothing.
