Henry Martín Was Just Rested: América Confirms Striker Is Fully Healthy and Will Start Against San Luis
The Club América squad returns to Liga MX with no injury concerns, as Zendejas and Malagón enter the final stretch of their recoveries.

More than a few América fans got a little worried when they saw the lineup against Austin FC, but that concern didn't last long. Henry Martín's absence from the starting eleven had nothing to do with any physical issue. It was pure rotation, and the striker himself made that clear the next day, training right alongside the rest of the group.
The club confirmed there are no red flags at Coapa. Outside of the absences that had already been known for weeks, the squad is at full strength heading into Sunday's return to Liga MX. In fact, everything points to Henry Martín starting when América hosts Atlético San Luis, while youngsters Alejandro Cárdenas and Patricio Salas are expected to get more controlled minutes to help manage the squad's workload.
Before heading back to Mexico, the team held a regenerative training session still at the team hotel in Austin. That's where the difference showed: Henry worked at full intensity alongside teammates who hadn't carried as heavy a workload the night before, exactly the signal fans needed to put their minds at ease.
Zendejas Getting Closer
The other piece of good news has a name: Alejandro Zendejas. The forward underwent knee surgery in Spain and is now in the final days of his recovery. What's the internal timeline? The hope is that he could be back in the squad for the Leagues Cup quarterfinals against Columbus Crew, a match that's still a couple of weeks away.
Malagón Ahead of Schedule
With Luis Ángel Malagón, the outlook is also encouraging. His recovery from a torn Achilles tendon has progressed faster than originally projected, though there's still no exact return date. What there is, however, is a fairly specific target: at Coapa, there's hope that the starting goalkeeper, who has been out for several months, could make his return during Clásico week against Cruz Azul and Chivas in mid-September.
Between Henry's rotation, Zendejas' imminent return, and Malagón's accelerated recovery, América heads into the final stretch of summer with a clear message: the squad is coming back together just in time for what's ahead, both in Liga MX and the Leagues Cup.
