Barcelona Fan Who Tried to Attack Camavinga During Clasico Identified and Sanctioned
The Mossos d'Esquadra acted under Spain's Sports Law, and the case, which could carry a stadium ban of up to two years, will also be handed over to the club.

The celebration of Real Madrid's second goal in the heart of Camp Nou turned into a tense moment that, several days later, ended in an administrative sanction. The person at the center of it was not a player or a coach, but a fan who tried to attack Camavinga and other Real Madrid players as they celebrated the goal that put the match on track for the eventual 1-2 final score in the Clasico.
The Mossos d'Esquadra, the Catalan regional police, confirmed they have identified and administratively sanctioned the person responsible. The news was made public by LaLiga on Thursday, several days after the league reported the incident to the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) following the match played on the 25th, corresponding to the final matchday of LaLiga.
The Mossos chose to act under the Sports Law, which lays out a range of penalties depending on the severity of the offense. If classified as serious, the fine can range from 3,000 to 60,000 euros; if deemed very serious, it can climb to between 60,001 and 650,000 euros. According to LaLiga, the case is most likely to be classified as a serious offense, since no damage was ultimately recorded.
But the fine would not be the only consequence on the table. The law also allows for a ban on entering sports venues: between six months and two years for a serious offense, and from two to five years if it ends up being classified as very serious.
How was this person identified in the middle of a packed stand? That came down to cooperation between institutions. LaLiga noted that Barcelona's security staff worked together with the Mossos to track down the person responsible, who is reportedly part of one of the supporter groups in the Grada 1957 section.
The case does not end with the police. That information will also be passed on to the club's Disciplinary Committee so that Barcelona itself can decide what internal measures to take, separate from the administrative sanction already imposed.
