Jamal Musiala Reveals He Suffers From Absence Seizures After Two Collapses in Bayern's Preseason
The German international went down twice in three days of preseason and explained that he is receiving excellent medical treatment.

Twice in three days. That is what happened to Jamal Musiala during Bayern Munich's preseason, and it is starting to become a concern that goes beyond a simple knock or muscle issue.
The first episode came on Saturday, in the friendly against Leipzig. Musiala walked off the field on his own, though witnesses said he looked disoriented. The second came just three days later, on Tuesday, in the preseason match against Heidenheim. That time the scene was more alarming: the 23 year old midfielder collapsed just minutes after coming on as a substitute in the second half. He had to receive medical attention on the field and walked off with help from the coaching staff.
The club, in its official report on the Heidenheim match, offered just one line about what happened: "There was a setback when Jamal Musiala had to be substituted after a knock, minutes after coming on." A brief explanation that left more questions than answers.
It was the player himself who decided to clarify the situation. In a message posted to his Instagram account, Musiala explained that he suffers from "treatable absence seizures" stemming from a neurological issue. These are a type of brief seizure, marked by short episodes of disconnection or loss of awareness of one's surroundings, which in many cases responds well to medical treatment.
I'm receiving excellent medical care and I feel optimistic.Jamal Musiala
The German international wanted to project calm despite the scare. He is no ordinary player for Bayern: in recent years he has become one of the most decisive pieces of the Bavarian attack, with the ability to change games with his dribbling and his runs into the box. When a player of that caliber collapses twice in such a short span, even in preseason, it forces the club to handle the case with extreme care.
A Case That Demands Caution
For now there is no timeline or detailed diagnosis regarding how long Musiala might be sidelined or whether these episodes will affect his participation next season. The player himself chose to make the nature of the issue public, something that does not always happen with this level of transparency in European soccer.
What is clear is that Bayern will have to wait for medical clearance before being able to count on him normally. In the meantime, Musiala's own words, calm and optimistic, remain the only official update on his condition so far.
