Kvaratskhelia tears ACL, Luis Enrique vows he'll come back "even stronger"
The Georgian winger will miss the rest of the campaign after getting hurt in the 4-2 win over Barcelona, and Luis Enrique has ruled out signing a replacement before facing Lyon.

A knee injury can change everything in a matter of seconds, and that's exactly what happened to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia right in the middle of a PSG win. The Georgian tore his anterior cruciate ligament during the 4-2 victory over Barcelona, and it's now official: he's done for the rest of the season.
The blow hurts twice as much because Kvaratskhelia isn't just another piece in the Parisian puzzle. The winger has been a key player over the last few seasons, helping the club win two Champions League titles in a row, and his absence will be felt in the team's day to day.
Luis Enrique addressed the situation with a message that mixed realism and confidence. The coach admitted the coaching staff already feared the worst as soon as the match against Barca ended.
Unfortunately, we already suspected after the game how serious the injury was. Our thoughts are with the player and what he's going to have to go through, it's tough.Luis Enrique
But the Asturian coach didn't stop at sympathy. For Luis Enrique, setbacks like this come with the territory when you're chasing a long career at the top level.
In the end you have to stay positive and remember that if you want to play at the highest level for 10 or 15 years, you're going to suffer injuries, that's the life of a professional footballer. Kvara is a fighter, we have to try to find the positive side, and there will be one, once he gets past this injury. He has been, is, and will continue to be a very important player for us. We're going to be by his side and attentive to his needs. He's going to come back even stronger, I have no doubt about that.Luis Enrique
The coach also made clear he has no plans to rush into the transfer market just because the Georgian is sidelined. "No injury means we automatically have to sign a new player. Since the start of the season, I've always said we could handle any injury," he explained, hinting at his trust in the squad already at his disposal.
Lyon, with revenge on the table
While digesting the loss of its winger, PSG has an immediate game to play: the club hosts Lyon at the Parc des Princes this Monday, looking to string together a fifth straight win and keep climbing the table. It's no ordinary matchup: in the first leg back in April, Lyon came away with a 2-1 win, and that result still stings in the Parisian locker room.
Luis Enrique didn't hide the fact that this history serves as extra fuel heading into the clash with Paulo Fonseca's side. "It's a motivation to face Paulo Fonseca's Olympique Lyonnais. We remember what they did last season, when they won at the Parc des Princes playing very well," he said.
The coach stressed that his team needs to confirm the level it has been showing in every match. "We need to show that we're ready for every game and display our form. It's extra motivation to play against this Olympique Lyonnais," he added.
And there's a detail that illustrates the team's current moment well: just three or four weeks ago, PSG was still far from the league leader. Now, as Luis Enrique himself pointed out, they have a chance to climb to the top of the table. "It's important for us to be as high up as possible," the coach concluded, well aware that every point matters at this stage of the season.
