Universitario was routed 4-0 by Garcilaso in a match for matchday 10 of the 2026 Liga1 Clausura. The result stings enough on its own, but there was one specific sequence that stood out as the turning point of the game: the home side's third goal, born from an avoidable giveaway by the Universitario midfielder.

The play that sealed the first half

It was the 19th minute of the first half when Romero handed the ball to Quispe to build out of the back. The former Pumas UNAM player couldn't handle the opposing pressure, and Agustín Gonzáles took the ball off him before he could turn.
