Leverkusen Fails to Complete Comeback in Augsburg: Bittersweet Draw at WWK Arena After Schick's 88th-Minute Goal

Leverkusen responded with persistence. In the 59th minute, Ibrahim Maza thought he had scored the equalizer, but VAR disallowed the goal and the referee confirmed the call a minute later: the score stayed 2-1 in Augsburg's favor. The visitors kept pushing with attacking substitutions (Patrik Schick, Malik Tillman and Martin Terrier all came on) and shots that couldn't find the net. The equalizer finally arrived in the 88th minute: Schick, with his right foot, finished just inside the left post off an assist from Tillman to make it a final 2-2.
