Liverpool and Cerro, both unbeaten, collide in Clausura's third round

Two teams with perfect records cross paths this Friday at Parque Viera, and that matchup alone justifies the whole round. Liverpool and Cerro arrive unbeaten at the third round of the Torneo Clausura and face off starting at 7:00 p.m. in what the AUF's Executive Committee marked as the most attractive game of the weekend.

Action kicks off that same Friday, August 21, with Albion hosting Boston River at Estadio Franzini, starting at 4:00 p.m. After that opener, it's the turn of the Belvedere side and the Villa del Cerro club, two squads that know what it means to sweep the first two rounds and are now set to clash with each other.

On Saturday, August 22, the schedule stretches to three matches. It starts early, at 11:00 a.m., with Central Español against Juventud at Parque Palermo. At 3:00 p.m. Cerro Largo hosts Defensor Sporting at Estadio Ubilla, and later in the evening, at 6:30 p.m., comes one of the headline fixtures: Deportivo Maldonado hosts Peñarol at Estadio Domingo Burgueño Miguel. For the Aurinegro, it's a chance to stay close to the early pacesetters, in a road trip that's never easy against a rival that tends to be tough at home in Maldonado.

Sunday, August 23, closes out the round with three more matchups. Danubio takes on Racing at 11:00 a.m. at Estadio María Mincheff de Lazaroff, and at 3:00 p.m. Montevideo City Torque faces Wanderers at the Charrúa. The finale comes at 6:30 p.m. at Gran Parque Central, where Nacional hosts Progreso with the obligation of not losing ground at the top of the table.
