Nacional breaks down its transfer window numbers: Zuculini the priciest signing, Bais the biggest sale

Nacional laid out the exact figures behind everything that moved between July and September 2026. No rumors, no "word is that": the club published its own transfer window report, complete with amounts, rights percentages and contract lengths, so now it's possible to know precisely who came in, who left and under what terms each deal was struck.

Let's start with the free arrivals, always a relief for the books. Ruben Botta joined at no cost from Defensa y Justicia and signed through December 2027. Along the same lines came Francisco Calvo, a free agent from Al-Ettifaq, with a contract running through June 2028.

Next comes the chapter on loans involving money. For Tiziano Correa, who came from Cerro Largo, Nacional put up USD 150,000 for a loan with an option to buy and kept 15% of his rights. Something similar happened with Nahuel Gelos, from Miramar Misiones: he arrived on loan for USD 40,000 and the club acquired 35% of his rights.

The only outright purchase among the lower-profile names was Alexis Martin Arias, for USD 85,000, with 100% of his rights and a contract through December 2028. There was also movement without any outlay: Alejandro Martinez arrived on a free loan from Talleres through the end of 2026, with an option to buy, and Gaston Martirena joined the same way from Racing of Argentina, with a deal through June 2027. USD 60,000 was paid for Benjamin Nunez, and Nacional secured 60% of his rights, with a contract through December 2028. Santiago Silva arrived from Huachipato on loan for USD 150,000, also with an option to buy.

And the priciest name of the entire window was Bruno Zuculini, who joined outright from Racing for USD 362,000, with 100% of his rights and a contract through June 2028.

The departures and what they brought in

On the sales side, the one that brought in the most money was Federico Bais, transferred to Al Shamal of Qatar. Nacional reported receiving a net amount of USD 752,000 and also retained 50% of the player's future rights.

The rest of the moves were loans, several of them with a percentage retained for the club. Bruno Arady went to Juventud (Nacional keeps 10%), Baltasar Barcia moved to Albion, and Paolo Calione departed for Al Wakrah of Qatar in a deal with an option to buy reported at USD 150,000. Also leaving were Facundo Gonzalez to Racing (10% retained), Nahuel Lopez to Progreso (15%), Ezequiel Mereles to Central Espanol with an option to extend the loan through December 2027, Lucas Morales to Sportivo Luqueno of Paraguay and Renzo Sanchez to Montevideo Wanderers, with Nacional again keeping 10%.

Finally, the report also details the contract terminations. Gonzalo Carneiro was left without a reported destination club, while Jhon Guzman signed with Cortulua of Colombia, Rafael Haller with Liverpool of Uruguay, Nicolas Lopez with Platense of Argentina, Juan Pintado with Gimnasia of Argentina and Mauricio Vera with Deportes Concepcion of Chile.
