No exit clause, no exit: Chivas holds firm on Roberto Alvarado
El Piojo and Raul Rangel are untouchable for the Guadalajara club, which turned down feelers from Europe after the World Cup.

At Chivas there's one message that gets repeated every time the phone rings from abroad: Roberto Alvarado is not for sale. This isn't front-office talk meant to soothe fans, it's a firm stance. The 'Piojo' has no release clause in his contract, so any club interested in him will have to sit down and negotiate directly with the club, with no shortcuts and no magic number that triggers an automatic exit.
That completely changes the picture for anyone dreaming of signing him. Without a fixed figure written into the deal, Guadalajara holds the final say, and right now that answer is no. For his part, the player hasn't shown any urgency to pack his bags either. Both sides, for the moment, are comfortable right where they are.
The same story applies to Raul Rangel. The Guadalajara goalkeeper also has no exit clause, so his contract situation is practically a mirror image of Alvarado's: if any club wants to sign him, it will have to knock on the front office's door and win them over with an offer worth considering, not a preset number.
After the World Cup, both players drew interest from Europe, particularly from Russian soccer. There were some approaches, but the proposals never quite convinced either the players or the club. Neither the money nor the sporting project was enough to move the needle, and the talks stayed at the level of mere feelers.
Back to work with Pumas on the horizon
Meanwhile, life goes on at Verde Valle. Chivas returned to training this Tuesday after two days off, with their sights set on the next home match: hosting Pumas in matchday eight of the Apertura 2026.
The coaching staff has a couple of names flagged in red on this week's medical report: Brian Gonzalez and Jose Castillo, who still haven't been able to rejoin full training with the squad. The plan is to speed up their recovery so they're available as soon as possible, though nothing will be rushed if they're not in peak condition.
The match against the university side is set for Sunday, September 13 at Estadio Akron, and it comes at a moment when Chivas need a win to keep pace in the standings. With Alvarado and Rangel confirmed as untouchable pieces, the Rebaño at least has one question settled that tends to create noise in other transfer markets: here, for now, nobody moves unless the front office wants it to happen.
