Sassuolo and Juventus Meet at the Mapei Stadium With No Room Left for a Draw

The two sides arrive with different pressures for Matchday 4 of Serie A 2026/2027.

Draw after draw, and neither Sassuolo nor Juventus have quite managed to get going in this Serie A 2026/2027 season. On Sunday they meet at the Mapei Stadium with a similar sense of urgency: they need a win to keep from watching the rest of the pack pull away.

The match is set for this Sunday, September 13, with kickoff at 3:45 p.m. for Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, and 1:45 p.m. for Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. Coverage for South America will run through Disney+'s Premium plan.

Why is this Matchday 4 clash worth watching? Because neither team wants to keep giving away points. Sassuolo sits uncomfortably near the bottom of the table and needs a win to climb out of there as soon as possible. Juventus, on the other hand, is looking upward: a positive result would put them back in the fight for the top spots without losing more ground.

How the two teams arrive

The hosts come off a wild road game at Bologna, where they drew 2-2. Juventus, meanwhile, salvaged a point in a tight match against Milan that ended 1-1. Two draws that left very different impressions: while Sassuolo showed it can hurt anyone, the Old Lady still needs that finishing touch to start climbing the table.

At Sassuolo, keep an eye on Vasilije Adzic, the midfielder who already has a goal and an assist in three matches played, numbers that make him one of the most active pieces in the home side's attack. On the Juventus side, all eyes are on Teun Koopmeiners, who also has a goal and an assist so far this season and is looking to become the offensive engine the team needs to start collecting three points at a time.

Their most recent meeting

The last time these two teams faced off was on March 21 of this year, in Turin, in a result that left both sides wanting more: 1-1. A draw that, in hindsight, sums up pretty well the tight balance that tends to mark these matchups.

With that recent history in mind and each side's urgent needs on the table, the Mapei Stadium promises a match with little room for concessions. Sassuolo needs to rediscover home wins to pull away from the bottom of the table; Juventus needs to snap its run of draws and start climbing before the gap to the top of the table becomes harder to close.
