Schalke and Elversberg Play to Scoreless Draw Despite Hitting the Woodwork

Edin Dzeko tested Nikolai Rehnen early on, though really it was the crossbar and some sharp positioning from the visitors that did the testing, and still the scoreboard never budged. Hasan Kurucay picked up a yellow card in the 61st minute for dangerous play, and the match wound down through a closing stretch of fouls and half-chances that never quite sharpened into anything clear, until Junior Dina Ebimbe had the last look in stoppage time but couldn't finish it off.
