Trent Alexander-Arnold eyes Real Madrid exit as Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and City line up
A lack of minutes under Mourinho and competition from Dumfries have opened the door to four English clubs, while Madrid moves toward renewing Courtois.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been at Real Madrid for less than a year and already there's talk of him packing his bags. The right back is frustrated by his lack of playing time under José Mourinho (just three LaLiga starts this season), and competition from Denzel Dumfries isn't leaving him much room either. According to TEAMtalk, his situation already has four English clubs licking their lips: Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are all keeping close tabs on his future.
The interesting part is that Liverpool's interest is no coincidence. The Reds need urgent reinforcements at right back after Jeremie Frimpong's injury, and who better to fill that gap than an old face from Anfield. Meanwhile, at the Bernabéu, another matter does seem to be moving forward: Madrid is close to officially announcing the renewal of Thibaut Courtois for one more year, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 34 year old goalkeeper would remain a fixture regardless of what happens with Alexander-Arnold.
Manzambi sets off alarms at Barcelona and Bayern
On the other side of the board is Johan Manzambi, the Aston Villa playmaker who arrived this summer from SC Freiburg for around 60 million pounds and is already paying back that investment with interest: two goals and two assists in four Premier League matches. That start has put both Barcelona and Bayern Munich on alert, with both clubs tracking him according to TEAMtalk. The Bavarians, in fact, view him as a backup plan should the Michael Olise situation become more complicated down the line.
The English market is also moving on other fronts. Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United are exploring a move for Wesley, the Roma full back capable of playing on either flank, though the Italian club won't let him go for less than 60 million euros, according to Football Insider.
At Bournemouth, Alex Scott is starting to feel the pressure of the January market. Chelsea is already in contact with his camp about a possible winter approach, reports Fabrizio Romano. The problem is that the Cherries haven't managed to close out a renewal with the 23 year old midfielder, so they could let him leave if an offer of at least 100 million pounds comes in. Just in case, Manchester United have already sounded out Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha, with Liverpool also interested: the Reds see him as an alternative if Scott ultimately ends up at Stamford Bridge.
And there's more movement across Europe: Real Madrid has submitted an official offer for United youth player JJ Gabriel; Liverpool and Bayern are watching Barcelona defender Gerard Martín; and the Reds are also tracking Monaco's Lamine Camara, already thinking ahead to 2027. Aston Villa, for its part, is close to tying down Emiliano Buendía through 2029, while Joe Willock is weighing a pre-contract with Beşiktaş to leave Newcastle in January.
