Vidal calls out Jeyson Rojas during livestream after Colo Colo's draw with O'Higgins

A 2-2 draw with O'Higgins in the Liga de Primera left plenty to break down, and as has become the norm lately, it was Colo Colo's own captain who took charge of reviewing it on camera. Arturo Vidal, in his role as a streamer, went over one particular sequence that could have cost the team dearly, and he didn't hold back when it came to naming the player responsible.

The sequence in question ended with a cross from Ignacio Schor that Arnaldo Castillo met with a header, forcing goalkeeper Gabriel Maureira into a diving save to keep out what would have been O'Higgins' third goal. The goal was ultimately ruled out for offside, but for Vidal the issue wasn't the assistant referee's flag, it was a teammate failing to track back properly on the mark.

The player in question was right back Jeyson Rojas, who Vidal said needed to sprint back harder the moment a rival center back joined the attack. As Vidal explained it, that's a read every defender should have down automatically.

The captain also took the chance to praise the work of another member of the back line, Jonathan Villagra, holding him up as an example of reading that kind of collective play the right way.

A warning with a name attached

Vidal wrapped up his breakdown making clear the play could have ended in a goal had the offside call not gone Colo Colo's way, and he doubled down on the individual responsibility that comes with playing right back for Colo Colo.

This kind of public correction is nothing new for the captain, who has long used his broadcasts to review matches with the same demanding standards he holds on the field. The draw with O'Higgins leaves Colo Colo with plenty to work on defensively heading into what's next in the tournament, and with a captain who, microphone in hand, has no plans to dial back the internal self-criticism.
