Arsenal circles Osimhen as attacking market heats up across Europe

There are transfer market afternoons when every road seems to lead to the same place: Arsenal. This is one of them. While half of London keeps glancing toward Turkey over Victor Osimhen, the other half is watching what happens with Liverpool's attack. With the European summer window heading toward its close, the big pieces are still moving.

Let's start with the Nigerian striker. According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal have held talks with Galatasaray about Osimhen's availability, a name that has circled the London club for some time now. What's curious is how the subject came up: in the middle of negotiations over Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, two players who could end up in the Turkish Super Lig. It's not clear who proposed what, or whether this will turn into anything concrete, but the thread has been laid out. And to add another chapter to the story, Florian Plettenberg reports that Galatasaray turned down a 130 million euro offer from Al Hilal for the striker. In other words, they're not giving him away. Gazzetta dello Sport, meanwhile, throws AC Milan into the mix for Nwaneri.

At the same time, Tottenham have already formalized their interest in Cody Gakpo with Liverpool, according to Joost Blaauwhof of Voetbal International. The Dutchman is coming off his weakest scoring season since arriving at Anfield, just nine goals across all competitions, though he made a statement with three goals in four matches for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup. He's under contract until 2030, so any negotiation won't be simple or cheap.

Barcelona, between departures and reinforcements

Barcelona are living through a transfer window of contrasts. On one hand, Mundo Deportivo reports that Jules Kounde could pack his bags if a serious offer arrives in the final weeks of the window; Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are all mentioned as suitors for the Frenchman, who played 47 matches last season. On the other hand, according to ESPN, the club is going back in for Rodri with a renewed offer worth around 70 million euros, the figure at which Manchester City values the Spanish midfielder. And there's something already nearly done: Ferran Torres is heading to PSG for around 50 million euros, with a trip to Paris and a medical on the horizon before he signs.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are covering themselves against a possible departure for Enzo Fernandez, linked with Manchester City with Friday set as the deadline. TEAMtalk names Adam Wharton and Alex Scott as the players the Blues are already exploring as replacements.

AC Milan, for their part, are preparing to move on as many as eight players, including Tomori, Nkunku, Gimenez, Estupinan and Fofana, as Ruben Amorim tries to shape the squad to his liking after confirming the arrivals of Goncalo Ramos and Mario Gila.

And there's more movement elsewhere: Arsenal remain in contact with Atletico Madrid over Julian Alvarez, whose future is still unresolved; Leeds have agreed the framework of a deal with Nico Elvedi through 2029; and Bayer Leverkusen turned down a 20 million euro offer for Exequiel Palacios, even though the Argentine dreams of the Premier League.
