Cruz Azul, per those same sources, still isn't fully convinced by the terms on offer, but that hasn't slowed down the talks. Both clubs remain in active negotiations to try to finalize the Mexican midfielder's move to European soccer, a destination he has dreamed of for much of his career.

Nothing is signed yet. A deal isn't imminent, but it's moving in the right direction, and that's precisely why Cruz Azul chose to leave him out tonight.
