Deportivo Cali Routs Santa Fe 4-2 to Claim Fourth Star in Liga Femenina

A fourth star for Deportivo Cali, and nobody in Colombian women's soccer has more than that. The club from Valle del Cauca once again faced off against Santa Fe in the final of the 2026 Liga Femenina, and this time there was no doubt about it: Cali routed its rival 4-2 in the second leg and walked away with the title behind an aggregate scoreline that made clear who runs Colombian women's soccer.

This was no ordinary final. With this trophy, Cali reaches four stars in tournament history, pulling ahead of Santa Fe, which remains stuck on three. But there's something even more striking: this marks the third straight final in which the Cali side has met the Bogota club for the title, and all three times it's been Cali celebrating at the end. Santa Fe couldn't break the streak in 2024, couldn't break it in 2025, and couldn't break it in 2026 either.

The road wasn't easy. In the first leg, played in Tunja, Cali had already struck first with a tight 3-2 win. That's the lead they carried into the second leg, this time on home turf, and even though Santa Fe came out swinging, it wasn't enough.

A Back and Forth Battle

The Bogota side struck first through Zamorano, giving Santa Fe hope of flipping the series. But Cali answered quickly: Aponza leveled the score, and from there the home side took control of the match. The second goal came from Ingrid Guerra, and shortly after an own goal from Cortes put the result nearly out of reach.

Santa Fe didn't fold completely. Zamorano struck again for her second goal of the night, adding some late tension and tightening the scoreline as Cali was forced to defend its lead to the final whistle. But the Azucareras had an answer once more, this time through Guerra's second goal of the match, capping off a brace that made her one of the standout figures of the series.

When the final whistle blew, the title was sealed, and Deportivo Cali confirmed what it had been hinting at for a couple of seasons now: this is the team to beat in the Liga Femenina. Four stars, a three peat, and three straight finals against the same rival, all won. Numbers that, for now, no other club in Colombian women's soccer can match.
