Frattesi and Sučić deliver late rescues on a dramatic matchday

Three matches, three different stories, but one common thread: late goals that changed everything. Lazio, Real Sociedad and Getafe were the protagonists on a matchday where nobody gave up until the final whistle, and in two of the three cases that made the difference between winning and settling for a draw.

Lazio climbs into the top spots with the Frattesi formula

Things started poorly for Lazio. Udinese went ahead through a goal from Jesper Karlstrom in the 49th minute, and it looked like the match was about to get complicated for the Roman side. But once again, Davide Frattesi showed up. The midfielder finished with a low shot into the back of the net in the 75th minute to make it 1-1, and that's no coincidence: he had already scored the winning goals in the previous two matches, against Genoa and Bologna, both by a 1-0 scoreline. Three matchdays, three decisive goals.

Minutes after scoring, Frattesi came off and Albert Gudmundsson entered the match. The Icelander wasted no time making an impression: with two minutes left, he powered home a header for the final 2-1, in nothing less than his debut wearing the Lazio jersey. A hard way to forget the start of a new chapter.

With this result, Lazio reached nine points from three matches and moved level at the top with Roma and Inter Milan. Udinese, meanwhile, remained in tenth place, still searching for consistency.

Sučić rescues Real Sociedad in stoppage time

In Spain, Real Sociedad went through the kind of match that leaves you biting your nails. The Basque side started comfortably ahead: Job Ochieng opened the scoring just 11 minutes in, and twenty minutes later Yangel Herrera extended the lead after the opposing goalkeeper botched a clearance attempt. Everything pointed toward a comfortable win.

But the match turned when Jon Martín saw a straight red card in the 65th minute for a reckless challenge. Down a man, Real Sociedad fell apart: Thomas Lémar, on loan at Elche, pulled one back shortly after, and Fer Niño equalized nine minutes later. Elche, desperately searching for its first win of the season, let several clear chances slip by to take the lead.

The punishment came in stoppage time. Luka Sučić finished off a counterattack in the 90th minute for the final 3-2, a win that also carries special significance: it was the first time Real Sociedad had won on the road in La Liga since February. The San Sebastián club climbed to ninth place with seven points from five matchdays, while Elche continues to struggle near the bottom with just one point.

Getafe and Celta share the points with no winner

At the Coliseum, Getafe and Celta Vigo played to a draw that left both sides feeling something was missing. Uruguayan Martín Satriano put the home side ahead after pouncing on a rebound from a poorly cleared corner kick. Celta answered, also from a set piece: Carl Starfelt headed in the 1-1 equalizer in the 57th minute.

Things got harder for the home side when Zaid Romero was sent off for a second yellow card midway through the second half. Celta pushed for the winner, but couldn't find it against an opponent that held firm with ten men. Getafe remains in 15th place, while Celta, still without a win in the league and with just two goals scored in five matchdays, sits one spot and one point behind.
