Haaland Has His Eyes on Spain, Tresoldi Still on Barca's Radar, and Chiesa Wants Back in Italy

A look at the moves taking shape across Europe ahead of January, with Haaland, Mitoma, Chiesa and Kayode among the headliners.

Haaland Has His Eyes on Spain, Tresoldi Still on Barca's Radar, and Chiesa Wants Back in Italy

Europe's transfer market is already warming up ahead of January, and one name is dominating the conversation: Erling Haaland. According to TEAMtalk, the Manchester City striker would rather build his future in Spain than pull on an Arsenal shirt, even though the London club has the financial muscle to make a serious push. What makes the situation even more interesting is the backdrop: following the financial charges that could end in relegation for City, people close to Haaland are already floating 2027 as a possible departure date from the Etihad, even though his contract runs until 2034. If that door does open, both Barcelona and Real Madrid will be racing to get there first.

Speaking of Barca, the club hasn't lost track of Nicolo Tresoldi, the Brugge forward they monitored all summer long, according to Sport. In the end they opted to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, but the 22 year old German, a current under-21 international, remains on their radar for a future window.

Across the Channel, another winger situation is heating up: Tottenham is keeping tabs on Kaoru Mitoma of Brighton after renewal talks stalled. It's no coincidence that Roberto De Zerbi, now in charge on the Spurs bench, wants to reunite with the 29 year old Japanese winger he once coached at Brighton. That said, Liverpool is also circling the deal, with Mitoma's contract now entering its final 18 months.

Chiesa Eyes a Return Home

Another player who could be on the move is Federico Chiesa. The Liverpool winger would reportedly be open to returning to Serie A before the January window opens, according to Calciomercato. Inter, Atalanta and Lazio are all keeping a close eye on the Italian, who's simply looking for regular playing time after seeing limited minutes at Anfield.

In Italy, Juventus is also working the market on defense, with their sights set on Michael Kayode, the Brentford right back, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. He's not a new name for them either: they've been tracking him since his days at Gozzano and Fiorentina, well before he broke out in the Premier League. Alongside him, Cher Ndour (Fiorentina) and Borussia Dortmund youth prospect Samuele Inacio are also on the list. In fact, Nicolo Schira reports that the Bianconeri will prioritize signing a left back and a central midfielder in January.

Among the other rumors circulating around Europe, Bayern Munich is reportedly willing to let Kim Min-jae leave, with Tottenham, Aston Villa and Milan monitoring his situation. AC Milan, meanwhile, is negotiating a renewal with Christian Pulisic, who wants to stay at San Siro. In Spain, Atletico Madrid is working to tie down Marc Pubill before the year is out, while Arsenal, Chelsea and some Saudi Pro League clubs are dreaming of Dani Olmo, even though the player himself has no intention of leaving Barcelona.

Riyad Mahrez, a free agent after leaving Al Ahli, has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Qatar's Al-Shamal, according to Fabrizio Romano. And Roma, always active in the market, wants to bring in Endrick on loan with an option to buy, while also preparing an offer running through 2031 for young prospect Emanuele Lulli, valued at around $1,000,000 per season.
