Kane reaches 102 goals in 100 Bundesliga games, leaving the old record 30 goals behind
The Bayern striker scored in the 6-1 rout of Leipzig and beat Timo Konietzka's old mark, which had stood since the 1960s, by 30 goals.

A soft, unhurried finish off a cross from Nathaniel Brown, and that was that: goal number 102 for Harry Kane in just 100 Bundesliga appearances. Rarely has such a simple goal made so clear who truly owns a league's record books.
The moment came in the 53rd minute, during Bayern Munich's resounding 6-1 win over RB Leipzig, making it 5-0 on the scoreboard. But beyond the result, what that play leaves behind is a number that's hard to process: Kane obliterated the old record for goals in a player's first 100 Bundesliga matches, a mark that had belonged to Timo Konietzka with 72 goals, set with Borussia Dortmund back in the 1960s and standing for more than half a century. The Englishman beat it by 30 goals. Thirty. Hard to ignore that.
And the season has barely gotten started. This goal was Kane's fourth in just six league matches, on top of three goals in two Champions League appearances and a brace in the German Cup against VfL Osnabruck. A start that, once again, looks ordinary for him even though it's anything but.
Really proud to reach 100 games with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. We've had some incredible moments and I hope there are many more to comeHarry Kane
A habit called records
Since arriving from Tottenham in 2023, Kane has turned the extraordinary into routine. Back in September, during the 4-0 win over Union Berlin, he had already become the fastest player to reach 100 goals in Bayern colors, doing it in his 98th appearance. Counting all competitions, the striker has racked up 155 goals in 157 matches for the German club, with whom he has already won two Bundesliga titles and the 2026 German Cup.
That sustained level of performance has made him the leading candidate to win his first Ballon d'Or, with the ceremony set for October 26. Kane himself prefers not to get ahead of things.
With the Ballon d'Or, we'll know in about ten days. Like I've always said, it would be a huge achievement if it happens. But if not, we're focused on this season, on getting good results. We've got important matches coming up, in the Champions League and the Bundesliga, that's where the focus isHarry Kane
The win over Leipzig carried an extra edge to it as well: after a somewhat uneven start to the season, Bayern moved back to the top of the table, right where they're used to being.
It was a really good match. After the last two results, I think it was important to make a statement, and we did that from the first minute. In the previous matches we had enough chances to win and didn't get the results we wanted. There was more talk about it than there should have been, so it was important to stay level headed and avoid mistakes. And we did that from start to finish, from the back to the front. It was excellent. When you score six against a rival like that, you can feel really proudHarry Kane
At 33, Kane is also reportedly close to signing a contract extension that would keep him at the club through 2029, according to sources consulted by ESPN, since his current deal runs out at the end of this season. And there's still another milestone just around the corner: if he plays against Croatia on November 12 in the Nations League, he will become the most capped player in England's history, with 126 appearances, surpassing the mark Peter Shilton set in 1990. He is already, in fact, his national team's all time leading scorer, with 91 goals.
