Nashville SC and New York City FC Play to Scoreless Draw at Yankee Stadium

Hany Mukhtar's crossbar said no twice, and the final score stayed at 0-0 at Yankee Stadium. Sam Surridge tested Matt Freese twice in the span of three minutes (47th and 48th), and Mukhtar kept probing from outside the box on several occasions, including another dangerous free kick in the 77th minute that once again skimmed the crossbar. The visitors' pressure was constant, but New York City FC held firm, leaning on substitutions to slow the pace of the match.

The game also had its share of cards: Andy Najar, Patrick Yazbek, Hany Mukhtar, Kevin O'Toole and Malachi Jones were all booked, a reflection of a physical contest that saw 14 fouls from the home side and 13 from the visitors.
