Raphinha, Fermín López, Mariano Díaz and Roberto Fernández Share the Scoring Lead After LaLiga's Opening Matchday
Barcelona's Brazilian winger was decisive in Elche with two goals and an assist, while Mariano Díaz surprises at Alavés and Adeyemi opens his account.

One matchday. Just one. And already some names are pulling away from the pack atop LaLiga's scoring charts. Raphinha, Fermín López, Mariano Díaz and Roberto Fernández share the top spot with two goals apiece, an early snapshot worth taking with a grain of salt since first impressions in soccer tend to be misleading. Still, for now, there they are.
The Brazilian was the difference maker in Barcelona's rout at the Martínez Valero. He tallied two goals and an assist in the win over Elche, making it clear he remains the offensive focal point for the reigning champions. Alongside him, Fermín López once again showed the scoring instinct he flashed last season, netting the 0-4 and 0-5 in that same match, a brace that confirms he's in good form.
On the other side of the scoring table sits Mariano Díaz, a name that might catch a few people off guard given the club next to it. The Dominican forward, now with Alavés, had already scored on opening weekend against Getafe and struck again last Thursday at Butarque, in the 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano. Two goals and two assists in just two matchdays: a start nobody saw coming from a player who arrived in Vitoria with a reputation for needing to rediscover his scoring touch.
Roberto Fernández rounds out this quartet of scorers with two goals, though with a curious wrinkle: he scored both before facing Real Madrid, a match in which he couldn't find a way past the Whites' goalkeeper. Even so, his numbers put him level with Raphinha, Fermín and Mariano in this early season snapshot.
The Scoring Debutants
The matchday also brought some special firsts. Carlos Espí scored his first goal as a Real Madrid player, and the timing couldn't have been more dramatic: it came in the 90th minute to make it a final 1-2, a goal that spared José Mourinho a draw just as things were getting complicated for the Whites.
Karim Adeyemi, for his part, also opened his scoring account in a Barcelona shirt. The German made it 0-2 during the away trip to the Martínez Valero, joining in on Barça's scoring party in Elche, a match that ended up putting several names on the board.
Behind this leading group sits a long list of players with one goal each, spanning very different profiles: from Jude Bellingham to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, along with younger players like Marc Pubill or Giuliano Simeone. It's only been one matchday, we should stress, but enough to start sketching out who's arrived at this LaLiga season with the sharpest trigger.
