River hosts Huracán at the Monumental with Libertadores spot in sight

The Monumental fills up again on Saturday, and this time the visitor is no pushover. River hosts Huracán on Saturday, September 19, in Matchday 10 of Zone B of the Torneo Clausura 2026, and while the two sides look fairly even on paper, the sense is that the "Millonario" arrives with the momentum of a team on the rise.

The match can be watched live on ESPN Premium in Argentina, with Disney+ carrying the broadcast for the rest of Latin America. Kickoff times: 7:00 p.m. in Argentina and Uruguay, 6:00 p.m. in Chile and 5:00 p.m. in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.

How River and Huracán arrive

River comes off a 2-1 win over Atlético Tucumán, stretching its unbeaten run to five matches: four wins (three of them in a row) and one draw along the way. With that result, Diego Martínez's team is dreaming of finishing among the top eight in its group, which would open the door to the 2027 Copa Sudamericana. Names to watch

For River, there are four players who tend to make the difference and are worth keeping an eye on: Gonzalo Montiel, Thiago Almada, Ángel Correa and Sebastián Driussi. On the visitors' side, Huracán leans on Hernán Galíndez between the posts, along with Facundo Waller, Rodrigo Fernández Cedrés and forward Jordy Caicedo, who has a knack for scoring against the big clubs.

Caicedo, in fact, has a bit of a score to settle in this matchup. The last meeting between the two sides came on March 12, 2026, when River won 2-1 on the road with goals from Driussi and Montiel, while the Ecuadorian forward had pulled Huracán level before the "Millonario" turned the result around.
