Four Premier League Giants Circle Trent Alexander-Arnold, But He Wants to Stay at Real Madrid
The right back wants to stick around the Bernabeu this season, while Juventus goes after Kovacic on a free transfer and Bayern checks in on Benfica's Araujo.

The transfer market never sleeps, and this time the name generating the most buzz is Trent Alexander-Arnold. According to TEAMtalk, as many as four Premier League clubs (Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea) are keeping tabs on the right back's situation at Real Madrid, and have already reached out to his camp to explore what options might exist should he decide to leave the Bernabeu.
Worth noting, though: nothing looks imminent for now. The player himself, 27 years old, wants to stay with the Spanish giants this season, which cools off any chance of a January departure considerably. What does seem clear is that the situation will be reassessed at the end of the campaign, so this is a saga to keep on the radar, not one for this window.
Meanwhile, in Italy there's also plenty brewing. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus has its eye on Mateo Kovacic, the Manchester City midfielder. The 32 year old Croatian will enter the final six months of his Etihad contract in January, and the Bianconeri are said to be ready to make their move and land him on a free transfer. It's easier to understand why once you look at his playing time: he's logged just two minutes in the Premier League all season, spread across two substitute appearances.
Bayern, Araujo and the Kim Min-jae Domino Effect
Another name starting to gain traction is Tomas Araujo, the Benfica center back. Bild journalist Christian Falk reports that Bayern Munich has been monitoring him for a while, though everything hinges on whether the Bavarian club decides to part ways with Kim Min-jae. The 24 year old Uruguayan is coming off a strong season, highlighted by his performance in the 2-0 win over AC Milan at the San Siro in the Europa League, so it's no surprise he's drawn interest.
At Real Madrid, meanwhile, there's another twist: according to Marca, the club is no longer looking to move on from Raul Asencio. The 23 year old center back had turned down offers from Chelsea and Liverpool last summer, even though, as the story goes, Mourinho himself had reportedly "shown him the door." He hasn't played a single minute in LaLiga this season, but that could change after Ibrahima Konate's injury and Dean Huijsen's red card in the 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid.
At Roma, on the other hand, the message is clear: nobody's leaving on the cheap. Gazzetta dello Sport notes the club will demand a fee close to 100 million euros for anyone looking to sign Manu Kone. The 25 year old Frenchman is coming off a two goal outing in the 2-2 draw with Inter, which has driven up his price tag following Chelsea's interest over the summer with a 60 million bid. Roma wants something comparable to Sandro Tonali's 100 million pound move from Newcastle to Tottenham.
Other Moves Stirring in the Market

- Liverpool and Manchester United have Micky Van de Ven, the Tottenham defender, on their radar, according to Ekrem Konur.
- Aston Villa and Tottenham continue to monitor Bayern's Kim Min-jae, according to Christian Falk.
- Napoli faces uncertainty over the future of its midfield trio: Kevin De Bruyne, Frank Anguissa and Stanislav Lobotka, with no renewal talks currently planned, according to Calciomercato.
- Manchester United has been warned it will need to pay a hefty sum to land Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, according to Football Insider.
- Juventus is negotiating a contract renewal with Douglas Luiz, according to Nicolo Schira.
- Newcastle, Brentford and Atletico Madrid are watching Monaco's Mamadou Coulibaly, according to Ekrem Konur.
- Juventus is also interested in Marseille full back Emerson Palmieri, according to Corriere dello Sport.
