Pachuca and Atlante Both Part Ways With Their Coaches on the Same Day in Liga MX Femenil

Atlante also makes a clean break

On the other side, Atlante confirmed that Nicolas Morales is no longer the head coach of the women's team. The coach's record to start Apertura 2026 was two wins and two losses, a mark that wasn't enough to hold onto the job amid rumors already linking him to the Mexican Under-20 national team job.

The blue and gold club was brief but direct in its statement:

Morales's exit comes just one day after a controversy erupted following the match against Queretaro, when the coach made negative comments about the performance of his player Nailea Vidrio. The episode didn't help matters, though the club's statement focuses on thanking him for his time with the institution.

Where does Morales go from here? The name being floated is precisely the national Under-20 job, which has been without a coach for a few days now following the team's group-stage elimination at the Under-20 World Cup and the subsequent departure of Dorival Bueno. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the pieces seem to be falling into place in Mexican women's soccer.
